Walter passed away into the arms of the Lord March 23, 2010, from his home in Kalispell. He was born Sept. 26, 1960, in Petaluma, Calif., to Chief Master Sergeant Walter and Fernyssa (Kemper) Carpenter. Walter was always proud to be an Air Force Brat. In 1976, the family transferred to March AFB and lived in Hemet, Calif., where Walter graduated high school in 1979. Walter enjoyed cooking and worked as a chef in various restaurants. In April 2009, Walter and dog Molly moved to Kalispell to be near family. He loved Montana and was very happy. He made friends easily and literally would give you the shirt off his back " just ask Linda Baker. He was preceded in death by his sister, Caleen Dills; and parents, CMS Walter and Fernyssa Carpenter. Walter is survived by his brothers, Glenn and Kathy Carpenter of Palmer, Alaska, and Kenneth and Momi Carpenter of Homeland, Calif.; sister, Lisa, and Orrie Jones, of Kalispell; and his beloved Aunt Jeannette and Uncle Bill of Newark, Ohio; plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He had a lovely, generous soul and we will forever miss him. An open house and celebration of Walter s life will take place from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 3, at Lisa and Orrie s home, at 163 Quincy Loop in Kalispell. Call 756-6702 for directions.
