Julia Julie Lamberson, 85, passed to the loving arms of her Lord on Monday, March 29, 2010, at her home in Whitefish, surrounded by family. Julie was born in Whitefish on Jan. 10, 1925, the third child of Anna and Ralph Baker. She attended school in Whitefish, graduating from Whitefish High School in 1943. Julia was a kind, caring and generous person who always shared a smile and hello with everyone. Her family, faith and friends were the focus of her life, and she gave selflessly to each. On June 15, 1945, Julie married her love, Cloyd Lamberson. She was a devoted wife and mother who, together with Cloyd, raised two sons, John and Ralph. Julie loved all things domestic, cooking, sewing, baking, gardening, canning, participating in her children s activities and creating a nurturing home for her family. She worked through the years, most notably at the Whitefish J.C. Penney store and Physician s Clinic, where she enjoyed many friendships and helping people. Julie was a lifelong Whitefish resident, the town she loved dearly. She spoke often of wonderful times and memories of growing up in Whitefish. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi with over 50 years of membership and recipient of the Order of the Rose. She also belonged to Pinochle Club, Birthday Club and to the Moose Lodge, where she enjoyed dinners and visits with friends. Julie also helped the Looking Back column in the Whitefish Pilot. She enjoyed weekly Saturday shopping trips with her best friend, her sister Helen. Julie enjoyed time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-granddaughter and her nieces. Many people will remember her for the many years she shared daily morning walks around Whitefish with her dear friend Mary, ending up at the Buffalo Cafe for a soda or breakfast. Julie was a faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Over the years, she was a member of the Altar Society, taught religious education and prepared the altar linens. She lived her faith daily through her devotion to prayer, her care, kindness and generosity to others, her acceptance, love and respect for everyone and every creature, and her positive acceptance of any trial life sent her way. Julie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cloyd; a brother, Ralph; sisters, Clara Crawford and Helen Doyle; and grandson, Lonnie Lamberson. Julie is survived by her brother, John Baker, of Whitefish; sons, John and wife, Lillian, of Lacey, Wash., and family, Mandi, Luke, Willow and Reuben; Ralph and wife, Susie, of Whitefish, and family, Darin, Tara and John; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, as well as several nieces and nephews. A parish vigil and rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Austin Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Patton as celebrant; Rite of Interment will follow at Whitefish Cemetery. A reception will follow in the St. Charles Parish Center.
