Marion Louise Whary, 78

Marion Louise Whary, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Health Center Northwest in Kalispell. She was born June 4, 1931, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Elva and Florence Snow. She spent much of her childhood traveling the Northwest with her father, who was a United States Forest Service Supervisor. She attended a few different schools during this time, but graduated from high school in Grand Junction. She graduated from the Chicago Institute of the Arts with a bachelor's degree in fashion design and worked with Munsingwear for many years as a lingerie designer. She married Elvin H. Whary, retired from the United States Navy Submarines, on August 18, 1956, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Marion and Elvin settled down in Pasadena, Calif., and had three children, all boys, Steve, Jim and Lance Whary. She loved spending time with her family at the second home that she, Elvin and the boys built in Big Bear Lake, Calif. In her pass time she loved working with needlepoint and occasionally selling real estate. After the boys were grown, she and Elvin spent many years traveling the world. She moved to Kalispell in 2005 to be closer to her family. Marion is preceded in death by her parents, Elva and Florence Snow, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; and her husband, Elvin H. Whary, of Pasadena, Calif.,(October 4,1994). She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Janet Snow of Rio Linda, Calif.; son and daughter-in-law, E. Lance and Peg Whary of Kalispell; son, Steve Whary, and son, Jim Whary; granddaughters, Michelle Whary of Kalispell, and Brittany Porter of Appleton, Wis. Marion had a heart of gold and will forever be loved and missed by many. To Marion's two sons, Steve and Jim: Where are you? There are no services planned for Marion at this time.
