Kila woman arrested for attempted homicide

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies took a Kila woman into custody for alleged attempted homicide after a Sunday afternoon incident.

At 12:44 p.m. Easter Sunday the sheriff’s office got a call to 667 Kila Road, where the caller reported a disturbance was under way.

Sgt. Aaron Westphal said that when deputies arrived, they discovered the woman there had discharged a firearm during a domestic disturbance with her adult son. Nobody was injured, Westphal reported.

Deputies recovered the gun from the home but, as investigation still was under way late Sunday afternoon, Westphal would not identify what type of gun it was. Names and ages of those involved also are being withheld pending investigation.

The son reportedly was not taken into custody.

However, Westphal said another man at the home was arrested on an outstanding $12,000 felony warrant out of Michigan for nonpayment of child support.
