Our beloved mother passed away at North Valley Hospital March 31, 2010. A family celebration of her life will be held later this summer. She was born in San Jose, Calif., Oct. 27, 1923, to Stillman and Lorraine Pfeffer. Mom grew up and attended school in Gilroy, Calif. She met John H. Bras and they married May 31, 1947. After John s service in World War II they moved to Coram, leaving briefly to complete enlistment in the Korean War. Together they raised the five luckiest children in the Flathead Valley. Lillian was an avid sports fan and played softball well into her 60s until she suffered a knee injury and couldn t play any more. She never missed a World Series and attended all her children and grandchildren s sports events. Mom loved family, the outdoors and animals; especially her horse Bud and dog Jessie. Among her hobbies was embroidery of perfection. Every child and grandchild has been given her art to enjoy for years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; sister, Verda; brother, Albert; and daughter, Marilynn Kenfield. Lillian is survived by her children, Kathy Livingston, John Bras and Lori King, all in the Flathead, and Brian Bras of Coos Bay, Ore.; 11 grandchildren, Sej, Michael and Autumn Kenfield, Jared and Stacy Livingston, Orion Bras, Darcy and Dylan King, and Dirk, Serena and Alyssa Bras; and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Adele Tustin and Louise Carlton. Mom will be remembered in so many ways, and one of our fondest was how we all know it was never allowed to leave each visit with her without honking goodbye first. We hear that horn load and clear from you, Mom! We would like to thank the Professional Center and North Valley Hospital for the excellent care. Columbia Mortuary is caring for the family.
