Jeann M. Ramsey, 87

Jeann M. Ramsey, 87, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010, at her home in Missoula. Jeann was born Dec. 31, 1922, in Butte, to William John and Clara Agnes (Shoop) McIntosh. She attended Emerson Grade School in Butte and graduated from Butte Public High School. Jeann was united in marriage to Robert J. Bob Ramsey on Sept. 15, 1943, in Great Falls. During her working years, Jeann held various bookkeeping positions in Butte, including Hansen Packing, Victor Chemical, Ambrose Distributing and Carr-O Neill Brokerage. She enjoyed activities with a variety of organizations including the Butte Junior Women s Club, the Order of Eastern Star (past worthy matron), Good Sam Club and the Christian Life Center s Senior and Widows groups. She and Bob enjoyed many good years camping, boating and fishing in Western Montana and after retirement, they loved traveling south in their motorhome during the winter months. Jeann cherished her many old-time friends from Butte, as well as friends from the East Fork of the Bitterroot and Missoula, especially the Katoonah Lodgers . With some of these friends, she maintained relationships through extended phone calls, regular cards and letters, in some cases lasting decades. She also thoroughly enjoyed her kids from the Perkins restaurant. Jeann was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lucille Hamilton and Dorothy Springer; and a brother, William J. McIntosh. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Karla Ramsey of Bigfork; grandsons and their wives, Rob and Katja Ramsey of Houston, and Steve and Aurelia Ramsey of Bigfork; and great-granddaughter, Rob s daughter, Emma Ramsey, of Alameda, Calif. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at the Christian Life Center, with Pastor David Phillips officiating. A reception will follow the service, also at the church. Cremation and Burial Society of the Rockies Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
