Evergreen chase reaches 100 mph

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies chased a 23-year-old man on a motorcycle through Evergreen at speeds in excess of 100 mph in the early morning hours Thursday. When the man was finally arrested at a North Cedar residence for eluding a peace officer, he said he fled because he had a suspended driver’s license.

A man stopped in the middle of Montana 35 and pulled a handgun because he feared for his life, he told deputies. He was apparently worried about the kids in another car spinning broadies Wednesday afternoon.

A dog owner was cited after two white dogs killed chickens at a Tamarack Lane residence around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

A woman’s ex-husband has been hacking into her computer, possibly from Egypt. Deputies offered advice.

Wearing only black tennis shoes, a middle-aged man appeared to be engaged in inappropriate activity as he hung out by the river off Montana 209 Wednesday evening.

Popping a wheelie, a teen apparently almost hit someone along Auction Road Wednesday night. Deputies were unable to locate him.

Deputies received 137 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Kalispell Police are investigating the theft of 13 medical marijuana plants from a dispensary on South Main street. They have a suspect and are following up.

A woman who works security at a hospital on Sunnyview Lane found a towel and a used condom in a bag hanging from her car. Last time, someone had scratched an expletive into the paint of her vehicle, she told police around 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Windows of a Fifth Avenue West North residence have BB guns holes. There are no suspects.

Officers received 84 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish Police were unable to locate the kids on a minimotorcycle using the cemetary grounds as a racetrack Wednesday night.

A dead animal that appeared to be a wolf found near a fast food restaurant along U.S. 93 was turned over to Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Thursday afternoon.

Columbia Falls Police received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

Search and Rescue towed about five people to shore after they experienced mechanical difficulties with their boat in the middle of Somers Bay. The boat was not sinking and all were safely on shore within two hours late Wednesday night.

An apparent victim of a motorcycle accident near the intersection of Jellison and Pioneer Road was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center by Evergreen Ambulance around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. He apparently hadn’t been wearing a helmet.

A few flaming trees near a Big Horn Drive residence were soon extinguished by the Smith Valley Fire Department Wednesday night.
