Banner start for Glacier netters
HELENA — Liana Bates, Hailey Blalack and Kellen Bates will all play quarterfinal matches in singles play this morning at the Helena Invitational tennis tournament.
The three Glacier standouts are all competing in Flight 1 and won their first-round matches on Friday. Some quarterfinal matches and those in consolation play on the first day were not played, or completed, due to darkness.
Glacier’s Cami Mathison and Veronica Walton have already qualified for semifinal play by posting two victories on Friday in Flight 1 of doubles.
Glacier’s Ryan Edwards and Karl Hellwig are also in today’s semifinal play of Flight 3 doubles. Edwards and Hellwig won both their matches on Friday.
Flathead’s Jon Pfeifer won his first round match in Flight 2 singles and will have a quarterfinal match today.
Flathead’s Logan Hunter and Cameron Worth lost in the quarterfinals of Flight 3 doubles, while Lisa Kelecy and Maxine Sugarman won their first-round match in Flight 2 doubles. The two Bravettes have a quarterfinal match today.
