Odean R. Pete Pederson, 85

Odean R. Pete Pederson, 85, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at his home, with his loving family at his bedside. Pete was born on Dec. 25, 1924, in Hillsboro, N.D., to Peder and Mathilda Solli Pederson. He was raised in North Dakota, where he attended schools, graduating from Maddock High School in 1940. He married his sweetheart, Rosemary Keister, in 1947 in Shelton, Wash. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. Pete spent 35 years working for the same local motor freight company in Kalispell and in Glasgow, as a delivery driver and then as terminal manager. Pete was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, and enjoyed volunteering every year as a dishwasher at Sykes for the Thanksgiving dinner held annually. He was raised Lutheran, but recently had been attending the Well Life services. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, especially with his dog Tic. He loved going on road trips and reunions with his family. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arnold; and a sister, Margaret. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rosemary, of Kalispell, daughter, Bonnie Beardsley, of Denver; sons, Phillip and wife, Nita, of Glasgow, and Brad of Kalispell; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Pearl Ernst of Tacoma, Wash., and Ervin Pederson of Bismark/Maddock, N.D. A celebration of Pete s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at Sykes in Kalispell. The family requests donations be made to Home Options Hospice of Kalispell.
