October, 1959 transformed the Going-to-the-Sun Road into the Korean war movie "All the Young Men", starring Sidney Poitier, then heavyweight champion Ingemar Johansson and Alan Ladd. Blackfeet Indians played the role of Koreans in the film.

With One Lane under construction near Haystack Creek, tourists cruise past the work zone along Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier Park in summer 2004. The $200 million reconstruction of the alpine highway is about halfway completed. Reconstruction work will continue through 2019.
