Glacier opened the high school swim season with an impressive performance on Saturday at The Summit pool.

The Wolfpack boys won all three relays and had one individual winner in Josh Loyda (500 freestyle) in rolling up a 316-point total to take top honors in the Kalispell Swim Invitational.

Great Falls High, 290, was second in the seven-team field.

Flathead was sixth, 112.

"They did great," Glacier/Flathead coach Brandon Rannebarger said of the Wolfpack.

"We're not even at full strength yet."

Samuel Burch (100 IM), Aaron Murry (50 freestyle), Logan Streit (50 butterfly) and Alex Augusta (50 backstroke) all finished second for the Wolfpack.

Flathead was led by Lars Thorderson.

Thorderson placed first in the 50 butterfly and turned in a second place time in the 500 freestyle.

Missoula Hellgate was an easy winner on the girls side, piling up a 503- point total.

C.M. Russell was second, 389.

Glacier was fourth, 330, and Flathead sixth, 45.

"I thought they could have done a little better," Rannebarger said of the Glacier girls.

"We made a few mistakes today that we won't make in the future. We'll also make some relay adjustments."

Maxie Scroggs was a double winner for Glacier (100 IM and 50 butterfly) and MaKenna Siebenaler added a first in the 50 freestyle.

Mckenzie Lane had the best showing for Flathead's girls, placing second in the 500 freestyle.

Rannebarger said Flathead has just nine swimmers on the roster, which limits the Braves and Bravettes scoring potential. It especially hurts both squads in the relay events.
