MISSOULA - Six pins, a major decision and a forfeit.

The Glacier Wolfpack downed Missoula Sentinel 49-27 in a wrestling dual on Thursday.

"I thought overall, the kids wrestled really solid up and down the lineup," said Glacier coach Mark Fischer.

Christian Knopp (105), Lucas Mantel (130) and Lane Armstrong (171) all garnered compliments from the coach.

"Lane Armstrong had a huge win at 171. Real tough kid there (that Armstrong defeated).

Fischer admitted he had been a bit concerned about this dual.

"(Sentinel) has a solid lineup. They're a lot like us. They have one forfeit in their lineup. They have two seniors. Side by side on paper (the lineups) looked a lot alike. I was probably a little nervous beforehand. But I thought we might match up well against them and we did.

"The kids wrestled with a lot of heart," the coach said.

Both teams, as well as Flathead, Polson and Columbia Falls will compete today and Saturday at the Mining City Duals in Butte.

Glacier and Sentinel are in the same pool and will meet up again at 7 tonight.

On Flathead's schedule is Dillon, Billings Senior and Conrad. Polson will wrestle CMR, Billings Skyview and Hardin while Columbia Falls will take on Billings West, Anaconda and Havre.

"Our kids are going to be excited. It's going to be a grueling two days, but I think our kids are ready for it," Fischer said. "Our goal is to win our pool, then get into the championship pool (on Saturday)."
