Edna Elaine Conn, 94

Edna Elaine Conn, 94, passed away at North Valley Hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010.

Edna was born in Pleasantville, Iowa, on April 24, 1916. She moved to Montana with her family when she was 2 years old. After several moves they settled in Whitefish.

Edna was married to Kenneth S. Conn on Nov. 25, 1936, in Kalispell. They lived in the Half Moon area until they moved to the log cabin Kenneth built on Conn Road. It was there that they raised their three children.

Edna was very active in the neighborhood Pollyanna Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Verga Phillips; her husband, Kenneth; her two daughters, Arleen Nelson and Kaye Harris; as well as nine brothers and sisters. 

Edna is survived by her son, Gordon and his wife, Marcie of Marysville, Wash.; son-in-law, Norman Nelson of Whitefish; sister, Dena Hickland of Polson; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Edna was a member of the United Methodist Church in Whitefish, where she had many dear friends.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at Glacier Memorial Gardens for relatives and close friends. A memorial service will be held in May of 2011 at the Whitefish United Methodist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made in Edna’s behalf to the Whitefish United Methodist Church.
