Lee Roy 'Hutch' Hutchins, 64

| December 19, 2010 2:00 AM

Lee Roy “Hutch” Hutchins was born in Kalispell on Feb. 21, 1946, to Robert and Velma (Anderson) Hutchins. Lee Roy received his education in Kalispell schools, graduating from Flathead High School in 1964. On July 17, 1965 he married his best friend, Linda Schwartz.

Linda and Lee Roy were married for 36 years when she passed from cancer. Lee Roy was an avid outdoorsman and his partner was always Linda. They fished together, floated all of our wonderful rivers, camped almost every weekend in the summer and ice fished in the winter.

Lee Roy worked at Kelly Main Street Furniture, delivering furniture at first and then working in the shop repairing appliances. He left Kelly’s to take a job with Bud Block’s Appliance Repair and worked there for many years. Lee Roy then ventured out on his own and opened Hutch’s Appliance in Whitefish. They made many friends in Whitefish. When Linda became sick, they closed the doors on their business. After Linda’s passing, Lee Roy went to work at A-1 Vacuum. He enjoyed working with the folks at A-1. He had to leave this job when he had a stroke. Lee Roy lived his final years at the Immanuel Lutheran Home.

Lee Roy is survived by two sisters, June and Bob Managhan of Spokane, and Phyllis Crocker of Hot Springs, S.D. He is also survived by his brother in law, Steven Schwartz and Kelsey; and his beloved nieces, Heather Bruner and Stephanie Dill. He touched the lives of many friends over the years. We will miss you!

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Lee Roy’s name can be made to the Ronald McDonald House at KRMC, in care of Icicle Creek, 10 Three Mile Drive, Suite Z, Kalispell, MT 59901.
