Gordon Melville Genge, 85

| December 21, 2010 2:00 AM

After an exceptional life, Gordon passed peacefully, while surrounded by family in his home on Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at the age of 85.

As a graduate and athlete of the University of British Columbia, Gordon’s dedication and hard work led to a successful engineering career and corporation creation. Generous to a fault, a brilliant mind, impeccable organization and fun-loving character helped him earn and share his successes throughout his life with those around him.

He leaves behind his loving companion, Ida Mae, as well as his three loving sons and spouses, Jeffry and Leticia, Christopher and Christine, and Paul and Maureen. He will also always be remembered as a wonderful grandfather by Gordon, Baily and Scott and Jeffry. Father is remembered fondly by Ida’s family of Stephanie and Eric, and John and Kim, and celebrated in the growth of their children, Candice and Chris, Amanda and Chris, and Katie and Shane.

An intimate celebration of Dad’s spirit and life will be planned for family and close friends; details to follow.

Dad would say, “This is not goodbye; we’ll see you down the road.”

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice in Gordon’s name.
