Evil stepmother report unfounded

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined that a report of an assault on Big Mountain Road by a 12-year-old girl was unfounded. The girl had accused her stepmother of attacking her, but it was later learned that the vacationing girl simply wanted to go back to her mother in Canada.

Detectives are investigating an alleged sexual assault reported by a girl on U.S. 2 East near Columbia Falls.

Four horses were rounded up after being seen on the loose near La Brant Road.

A man on Montana 35 near Kalispell said his estranged wife was harassing him through e-mails and phone calls.

An employee at a business near U.S. 93 South outside Whitefish reported a possible drunk driver after a man who could barely stand tried to buy beer, then drove away.

A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after a man on Falcon Lane near Columbia Falls called while locked inside a bathroom to report she had slapped him.

On Columbia Falls Stage Road, a caller reported that the occupants of two parked vehicles were either smoking marijuana or drinking alcohol. A responding deputy determined they were doing neither.

A reckless driver was reported on North Main Street after a vehicle was seen drifting sideways through an intersection.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for partner/family member assault on Lake Hills Court in Bigfork after he allegedly began kicking things and fighting his brother.

A woman on Ridgewood Drive said her ex-boyfriend was threatening to drive his vehicle through her residence.

Kalispell Police responded to a report of potential child abuse in the 1700 block of Fifth Avenue East Sunday night, involving a woman who intended to drop off a child at his father’s house but refused to do so after finding the man was intoxicated. The incident led to the arrest of the man, 35, on a probation violation.

A person reported the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Seventh Street West. The wallet later was found by a neighbor on the ground, but most of its contents were missing.

There was a report of a possible theft from a vehicle in 900 block of Fourth Avenue West.

Responding to a report of a theft of a vehicle in the 500 block of Parkway Drive, an officer ended up following two sets of footprints in the snow that appeared to be going from vehicle to vehicle along Parkway and Summit Ridge Drive. No suspects were located.

Monday morning, there was a report of two vehicles being gone through by someone in the 900 block of Sixth Avenue West, but nothing appeared to have been taken.

There was a report of a black Ford Focus being stolen from an address in the 1600 block of Fifth Avenue East sometime overnight.
