Hilda Faye Stidmon, 88

Hilda Faye Stidmon, 88, passed away on Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at her current residence in Kalispell.

She was born on Oct. 31, 1922, on a farm east of Greencastle, Mo., the daughter of Reuben and Goldie (Ray) Snyder.

 Hilda enjoyed writing poetry, painting and gardening. She attended schools and graduated from high school in Greencastle.

On Dec. 2, 1939, she married Claude Stidmon in Kirksville, Mo. They lived in Missouri and Iowa until moving to Kalispell in October 1953. Three children were born to this union, Larry Stidmon, Marvin Stidmon and Ricky Stidmon.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, Reuben and Goldie (Ray) Snyder; husband, Claude Stidmon; brothers, Vandall and Tom Snyder; and sister, Arlene Humphries. 

She is survived by her three children, Larry Stidmon, Marvin Stidmon, and Ricky and his wife, Linda, Stidmon; four grandchildren, Wendy Jo Stidmon, Melissa Leigh Stidmon, Cody Ryan Stidmon and Kari Ann Stidmon; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cleone Stidmon, brother, Curt Snyder, and his wife, Harriet; special dear friend, Mary Jo Samuelson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services for Hilda will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at Bethel Baptist Church 936 Fourth Ave. West, Kalispell. Burial will follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home.
