Eldon John Frahm, 81

Eldon John Frahm, 81, “entered into rest” on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Whitefish Care and Rehab in Whitefish.

He was born Sept. 23, 1929, to Harry and Hatwig (Bultman) Frahm in LeMars, Iowa. As a child his family moved to Grant Park, Ill.

In 1947, Eldon joined the Army Air Corps, retiring after 21 years of service. While stationed in England he met Jacqueline B. Sweatman and they were married on April 14, 1956, in southeast London. Three children were born from this union.

In 1965 the family moved to Glasgow Air Force Base in Montana. Two years later he retired and the family decided to stay in Montana. Eldon started work at Columbia Falls Aluminum Company in Columbia Falls, later retiring after 22 years.

Eldon was a member and head usher of the First Baptist Church in Whitefish for several years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing (especially in Alaska), camping, golf and bowling. Even getting firewood was enjoyable to him as a family activity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Hatwig Frahm; and a brother, Harley Frahm.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, of 54 years at the family home;  also by his three children, Robert Frahm and wife Margo of Whitefish, Julie Frahm of Kalispell, and Lisa Schwegel and husband Carl of Craig, Alaska. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Desirae, Jeffery, Chad, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Cody, CJ and Tori; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Dec. 31 at the First Baptist Church in Whitefish. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Austin Funeral home in Whitefish. Burial will follow at the Glacier Memorial Gardens.
