'Hamburglar' strikes at drive-through

Flathead County sheriff

The drive-through window of a fast-food restaurant on U.S. 2 East was shattered early Tuesday morning by an unknown person. Office equipment, which included a coin sorter, and change were reported missing. It is unknown if any hamburgers were stolen.

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies also checked out a report of a dog foaming at the mouth around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to make sure the dog was not infected with rabies. Turned out the dog was a Saint Bernard and was just drooling.

A Jellison Road resident has been receiving threatening notes in her mailbox from neighbors alleging she doesn’t properly care for her dog. Tuesday morning, she told deputies she thinks her neighbors are putting the notes in the wrong mailbox, as she feeds her dog and provides it with shelter.

Deputies took a report of an out-of-control juvenile on Crestview Drive. The boy’s father apparently had to hold down the “raging” juvenile around 5 p.m. Monday.

A woman’s husband reportedly head butted her, then grabbed her by the throat Monday night at a residence in Hungry Horse. The 34-year-old man was arrested for partner or family member assault and disorderly conduct.

Deputies received 112 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

A neighbor often plays loud drums and recently put a shopping cart on his porch, a Fourth Avenue East resident told Kalispell Police Monday around 7 p.m. He was counseled.

Officers had to pull a fuse to silence a honk-happy horn at 4:17 a.m. Tuesday. Police left a message after they were unsuccessful at contacting the owner of the vehicle parked near the intersection of Second Avenue West North and California Street.

Two teens who absconded from a grocery on Third Avenue East North Monday afternoon with cough syrup and cold-sore medication were later arrested, then released to the care of their parents.

Police responded to an apparently drunk pedestrian who kept falling on the ice as he walked eastbound along East Idaho Street late Monday night. Officers determined he should be able to make it home on his own.

Officers received 53 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Teens were setting off fireworks near Montana Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Whitefish Police. The teens were released to their parents.

Officers received 37 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls Police received 18 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

A older, heavyset man reportedly in the middle of U.S. 2 East Monday evening was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

A man was on the phone and driving past a Kalispell bank when he began to feel faint. He reportedly pulled over and passed out due to a medical condition. He was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center Tuesday around 2 p.m.
