Woman suspects ex of sabotage

A woman called Kalispell police Saturday evening claiming her ex-husband sabotaged her truck.

The Airport Road resident thinks he may have removed parts from the engine, because the truck now smokes. She has no proof but said the truck had no problems before she received the vehicle as a stipulation of a restraining order she has against him. Since then, the man has sent her text messages asking how the truck is running.

Officers advised the woman that this is a civil matter.

Officers did not locate the naked man heading south in an alley near Ninth Avenue West Saturday night.

After allegedly trying to steal an airgun from a sporting goods store on Hutton Ranch Road around 6 p.m. Saturday, three kids were arrested for theft.

An Eighth Avenue West resident reported hearing two pistol shots Saturday night. Officers spoke with nearby people who had been outside at the time, but they said they didn’t hear any shots. Officers were unable to locate anything out of the ordinary in the neighborhood.

A possible fight brewing in the parking lot of a bar on Woodland Park Drive cleared up around 1:30 a.m. Sunday without incident.

Police were unable to locate the kids apparently throwing snowballs at an air conditioner on Second Avenue West early Sunday morning.

Despite a warning yesterday, three young men apparently threw snowballs at Canvasback Court residents Sunday afternoon. They were counseled by officers.

Officers received 47 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Responding to a report of a possible party and gunshots, Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at a gravel pit Saturday evening to find an abandoned truck. Deputies found fireworks in the bed of the truck and put out a small bonfire.

An unknown man who knocked on the door of a Braig Road residence Saturday night ran off after dogs started barking. He returned a little while later, but ran off again when the dogs barked. According to a resident who was home at the time, this has happened four times in the last few months.

A man was arrested on felony theft charges after he apparently tried to steal more than $1,000 worth of electronics equipment from a box store on U.S. 93 East Saturday night.

Deputies separated a feuding boyfriend and girlfriend at a River Place residence Saturday night.

Around midnight Saturday, a woman locked herself in the bathroom after her boyfriend apparently pushed her. Deputies separated the couple for the night.

A television was stolen from a Cedar Drive residence sometime Saturday night.

A Cobbler Village resident woke up around 10 a.m. Sunday and discovered someone had tried to break in through a window during the night. The screen was torn, but nothing was reported missing.

Deputies received 185 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Whitefish Police arrested a Kalispell man for criminal mischief Sunday. The arrest stemmed from an incident Saturday night when he reportedly broke a window of a mobile home on Wisconsin Avenue. 

Officers received 40 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Columbia Falls Police received 16 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Saturday and 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Alarms

Employees at a mall department store managed to contain a pantless man in the bathroom until authorities arrived Sunday around noon. The man, who had been walking around with his pants down, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

After a possible assault around 1:45 a.m. Saturday, a man was transported with unknown injuries from a bar on Central Avenue to North Valley Hospital.
