A 19-year-old woman from Eureka was killed early Friday morning in a two-car crash on U.S. 2 near Glacier Park International Airport.

Pete Wingert, Flathead County undersheriff and the responding coroner, said the crash happened just before 1 a.m.

The victim, who has yet to be identified, was pronounced dead just after 2 a.m.

The driver of the other vehicle, a man, was transported by ambulance to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Sgt. Roy Christensen of the Montana Highway Patrol said both vehicles were southbound when one attempted to pass the other, sideswiping it.

Both vehicles went out of control, rolling off the right side of the highway.

“Both of the drivers were ejected,” Christensen said. “Neither driver had restraints on.”

The deceased woman’s vehicle rolled on top of her.

Christensen said alcohol is suspected to be a factor but the patrol has yet to receive official blood test results.
