CMR wins state swimming titles

HARDIN — Great Falls CMR left Hardin on Saturday night with two Class AA state swimming championships.

The Rustler boys edged Missoula Big Sky 173-172. Helena High was third with 163 1/2 points. The CMR girls outdistanced Missoula Sentinel 234-191. Helena High was third there as well with 140 points.

The Glacier boys finished sixth with 86 points while the Flathead boys were eighth with 83 points.

On the girls side, the Glacier girls were ninth with 60 points while the Bravettes were 14th with 11 points.

The Glacier boys 200 freestyle relay (Logan Streit, Kyle Brady, Aaron Murry and Brian Hoffman) and the 400 freestyle relay (same team) were the highest finishers for the Wolfpack. They were third in both races.

For Flathead, the 200 medley relay squad of Lars Thorderson, Michael Scaccia, Ben Mason and Jordan Loyda was fourth.

For the girls, Glacier’s MaKenna Siebenthaler was sixth in the 200 IM, Maxie Scroggs was sixth in the 100 backstroke and the 200 freestyler relay team of Samantha King, Maddie Walters, Maxie Scroggs and Siebenaler was also sixth.
