LIBBY — Jackie Mee’s last basketball game in the Libby High gym was like so many before it.

The 6-foot-1 senior made six 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 29 points and the Libby Lady Loggers dealt the Columbia Falls Wildkats their first conference loss of the season, 51-44 in Northwestern A girls basketball on Tuesday night.

In her final home game of the season, Mee was in top form and outdid the conference leading scorer, Columbia Falls junior Kayla DeWit. Mee, second in scoring with roughly 19 points per game, scored 10 points in the fourth quarter. Fellow senior LaRona Luscher went 3-for-4 from the free throw line and chipped in 10 for the game for Libby.

The Lady Loggers (12-5 overall) moved into second place with a 5-2 record in conference while first-place Columbia Falls (11-6) dropped to 6-1.

DeWit, who is averaging just under 20 ppg, finished with 12 while her senior sister Kelsey led the Wildkats with 16.

“They’re so competitive and those two (DeWit sisters) are such a handful. They command your attention,” Libby coach Jim May said.

“I was so proud of my two seniors,” he added.

Libby finishes the regular season visiting conference-foe Whitefish on Saturday while Columbia Falls ends with Polson at home this Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

The Northwestern A divisional tournament starts next Thursday at Glacier High.
