Death threats made over vehicle

Kalispell police

A man reportedly received a death-threat phone call from another man around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The threatening caller apparently said he was phoning from an ex-girlfriend’s residence on Batavia Lane. Kalispell Police learned the threats stemmed from a disagreement over a vehicle. Those involved were advised to apply for restraining orders.

A black bear cub was seen in a tree in the front yard of a Fifth Avenue West residence just before 9 p.m. Tuesday. It was gone when officers arrived.

The green light in the northbound lane at Sixth Street and Main was out Tuesday afternoon. Police referred the matter to the Montana Department of Transportation.

A red 2007 Toyota Tundra was keyed sometime Monday night as it sat in a parking lot along Auction Road.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for stealing Crest Whitestrips from a grocery on Third Avenue East North Tuesday afternoon.

No damage was reported to the pole hit by a Dodge Dakota around 4 p.m. Tuesday. No word on if the vehicle sustained any damage.

Three loose horses wandering in the play area of an apartment complex around 8 p.m. Tuesday were gone when police arrived.

A man and a woman were sitting in a vehicle and staring into a day care on Fourth Street West, a worried employee reported Wednesday morning. When she attempted to approach the red Chevy Blazer, it left, she told police.

Officers received 71 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Flathead County sheriff

Someone was seen throwing cans, papers and garbage from a yellow Chevy as it traveled eastbound on Reserve Drive around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday.

A dog owner was ticketed by Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies after a black Labrador Retriever and a Rhodesian Ridgeback were found wandering along Ponderosa Lane Tuesday around 6 p.m.

A Stoner Creek resident called deputies Tuesday evening to report that someone had stolen tools from his home while he was in jail.

After hitting a deer on U.S. 2 Tuesday night, motorists, apparently with permission from Montana Fish and Game, cut off the deceased deer’s legs for use in a wolverine study.

Several charges of minor in possession of alcohol, and a ticket for obstructing justice, were issued when deputies busted an underage party on Eleventh Avenue West in Columbia Falls around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

A woman stormed off from a Plentywood Drive residence after arguing with a man around  3:30 a.m. Wednesday. Both had been drinking.

Deputies were unable to determine the location from which mysterious shots were fired near River Road around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

A credit card owner wanted harassing calls from the company to stop. Deputies advised the Steel Bridge Road resident on Wednesday morning that this is a civil issue.

Deputies are investigating possible burglary at a Tall Pine Ridge residence. Tracks were seen in the driveway and near the back door around 11 a.m. Wednesday.

As a woman was talking on the phone with her son, he showed up at her Kila residence and allegedly assaulted her Wednesday around 2:47 p.m. He was gone when deputies arrived.

Deputies received 154 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Whitefish police

An intoxicated pedestrian seen wandering near North Valley Hospital Tuesday night was given a ride to the Whitefish Police station, where his wife came to pick him up.

Officers received 25 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

A teen was arrested at Columbia Falls High School Wednesday afternoon for possession of dangerous drugs, Columbia Falls Police reported.

Officers received 13 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The ceiling is bubbling and expanding and something smells funny, a Many Lakes Drive resident reported around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Creston Fire Department responded and learned a water leak had caused the mysterious happenings.

Evergreen Fire Department responded to a report of a burning picnic table on Trumble Creek Road Tuesday afternoon. As it was an illegal burn, fire crews counseled the homeowner.

The person passing out at a communications company on U.S. 2 Tuesday night was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

A woman in labor was driven to the Columbia Falls Police Department around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday. The woman had been in labor pains for about two hours and her water had just broken. Three Rivers EMS transported her to North Valley Hospital.
