“This is for Judy!” an assailant apparently yelled, ambushing a man as he crossed the parking lot of a supermarket on U.S. 2 East Tuesday night. The unknown attacker apparently hit the man in the face, knocking him to the ground, then proceeded to kick him. The man told Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies that Judy is his ex. Deputies are investigating.

Seeing a motocross bike driving up and down a sandy bank along Montana 83 Wednesday afternoon, a passing motorist called authorities, fearing the driver would get hurt.

An older man and a 3-year-old girl wearing raggedy clothing were seen hitchhiking along West Reserve Wednesday evening. A motorist called, concerned for their welfare. Deputies were unable to locate the pair.

Twenty-two gunshots were heard in 20 minutes, a Marion resident reported around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies were unable to locate the source.

A dead deer was blocking both lanes of Ninth Street West in Columbia Falls around 11 p.m. Wednesday.

A worried mother called deputies early Thursday morning after her two adult children didn’t come home from a night out, but canceled the complaint after she received a text from them letting her know they were OK.

A baggie of what appeared to be drugs was found behind an Evergreen business Thursday morning around 9:30 a.m. and turned over to authorities.

The 12-year-old who apparently ran away from Turtle Bay school Thursday morning was returned.

Jaws of Life belonging to an Evergreen rescue organization were reported missing around 11 a.m. Thursday.

A motorist was apparently giving profane gestures to the driver of a semi near the Montana 35 and U.S. 2 intersection around noon Thursday. Parties were counseled.  

Deputies received 83 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

A big-screen TV was found in the middle of the Main and Second Street intersection around 1 a.m. Thursday. It remained on the side of the road until at least 7:43 a.m. because it was too big for Kalispell Police to transport.

The couple in their 20s yelling at each other in the parking lot of a shopping center on U.S. 2 Wednesday afternoon were separated by officers.

Kalispell Regional Medical Center staff was advised to call 911 if a balding 30-year-old man wearing a gray sweatshirt returned. He was gone when officers arrived. Apparently the suspect’s girlfriend was having a baby, but he was unwanted in the area.

Around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, a fifth-grader was apparently approached by a carload of older boys, who asked him if he wanted to smoke marijuana with them.

Although it sounded like people were throwing things inside a Lambert Court residence around 3:23 a.m. Thursday, officers learned their dispute was only verbal.

After calling around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to report a valuable collector’s-item coin as stolen from a Fourth Avenue West residence, the owner was advised to contact the police department when sober.

Along Sixth Street West Thursday afternoon, an officer counseled the man he saw giving a cigarette to someone who appeared to be underage.

Officers received 76 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls Police are investigating the thefts of garage door openers from two vehicles parked at the same Columbia Drive residence. The thefts were reported Thursday morning. It is unknown if the vehicles had been locked overnight.

Officers received 10 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish Police received 16 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

In the locker room of a fitness center on Sunnyview Lane, a 16-year-old complained of a rapid heart rate. He was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center around 3:33 p.m. Wednesday.
