Footprints lead police to young climbers

Kalispell police

An employee of a property management firm called Kalispell Police to report that neighborhood children keep climbing on the garage roof of a vacant property.

Officers took down a ladder at the Second Avenue West rental, then followed footprints to a house down the street. They spoke to the mother of the children, who said she will discipline them.

Someone accidentally locked a 6-week-old puppy and keys in a Pontiac. Officers were able to unlock it.

While driving through the parking lot of a box store on U.S. 93, a young driver reportedly almost hit a child. He was gone when officers arrived.

A deer reportedly found with a broken leg Wednesday night reportedly was taken to the food bank Thursday.

Some children reportedly were riding mo-peds on the ice in Woodland Park after hours Wednesday. Officers informed them the park was closed and they left.

A woman called police to report that another woman apparently threw a drink in her face shortly after midnight Wednesday. Both were gone when police arrived at the bar off Airport Road.

A gun was reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked along Seventh Avenue West. There is no sign of forced entry. Officers are investigating.

Two juveniles were cited, then released to their parents after allegedly stealing pop from an inn off U.S. 93.

Officers received 52 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Flathead County sheriff

A woman reportedly threatened to shoot her daughter after allegedly finding explicit content on the 17-year-old’s cell phone. The woman reportedly has no gun or access to one. Parties were counseled by Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies.

While driving along U.S. 93, a car apparently flipped into the ditch. The trapped occupant was freed and transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries Wednesday evening.

A man sitting on a cabin porch reportedly refused to leave until the owners told him they were contacting law enforcement. The man then reportedly went to an inn on U.S. 2, where the 46-year-old was later arrested on charges of trespassing and being an intoxicated pedestrian.

Two teens who reportedly stole beer from a grocery store on U.S. 2 Thursday around 2 a.m. were not located by deputies.

Deputies were unable to find the source of six loud sounds reported as gunshots, but speculate they may have been fireworks.

Deputies received 150 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

A woman reportedly was struck on her left eye by a man outside an apartment on Fourth Avenue West some time Monday. Columbia Falls Police are investigating.

Officers received 12 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish Police had little to report except for dealing with some hard-partying Canadians.

Officers received 43 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
