Joseph Howard Feld was born Feb. 7, 1963, in Van Nuys, Calif., and left this earth to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010. He was preceded in death by his father, Max Feld. Joe is survived by his mother, Thelma Feld; his sisters, Sheila West, Lynda Quartemont and Brenda Baker; and his brother, Mike Feld. Other immediate family members include his three brothers-in-law, Stephen West, Kim Quartemont and David Baker; one sister-in-law, Christine Feld; and numerous nieces and nephews, Rachel West, Rebekah West, Ruth West, Anne Baker, Martin Baker, Michael Baker, Elissa Feld, Krista Feld, Joshua Feld and Brianna Feld. Joe grew up in Santa Barbara, Calif., and graduated from San Marcos High School in 1981. Joe began his business career at Montecito Village Grocery Store; he went on to manage The Health Food Store in Goleta and Channel Paper Company in Santa Barbara. Joe also owned his own professional landscaping business for a period of time. In 2000, Joe moved to Kalispell, where he realized his dream of owning a piece of land and building his own home. From 2000 to 2004, Joe worked at Zigler s Building Center where he met Jake Zigler, Ed Albright and Matt Thomas. In 2003 the four of them founded Ameri-Tech Laser Engravers. Joe and Ameri-Tech have left their mark all over Kalispell. Joe loved to hunt, fish, work on his home, play with his dogs and pick wild huckleberries. Joe was a loving son, beloved brother and faithful friend. He will leave little here on this earth because he stored up his treasure in heaven. The entire family would like to thank Home Options Hospice and his close friends, the Michael Baer, Matt Thomas and Ed Albright families who cared for Joe at his time of greatest need. The family requests donations in Joe s name can be made to Flathead Food Bank, 105 Sixth Ave. W., Kalispell; and Home Options Hospice, 175 Commons Loop, Kalispell, MT 59901.
