Teen moons woman from bus

Kalispell police

After reportedly mooning a woman from a bus as it drove along North Meridian Road, a 14-year-old boy was arrested by Kalispell police on charges of disorderly conduct and indecent exposure Thursday morning.

A man reportedly punched a small pit bull in the parking lot of a grocery store on U.S. 2 East Wednesday afternoon. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.

Police arrested a man for shoplifting from a ranch supply store on U.S. 93 South Thursday afternoon.

A purse and a designer wallet were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked outside a grocery on Second Avenue West Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday afternoon, police helped an elderly woman unstick the frozen doors on her vehicle.

After reportedly arguing with her mother, a 15-year-old apparently stormed out of her Eighth Avenue East residence. She reportedly returned later and began throwing things around the house. Parties were counseled.

Officers received 55 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Flathead County sheriff

Kids are reportedly stealing half-smoked cigarettes from an ashtray on the porch of a Braig Road residence in Columbia Falls. Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies have logged the incident. 

A concerned citizen called to report a bright red flare in the sky near Bigfork around 2 a.m. Thursday. Authorities were unable to locate it.

No injuries were reported following an inmate-on-inmate assault at the Flathead County Detention Center Wednesday evening.

A 47-year-old woman reportedly fell off the roof of her Helena Flats house Thursday around noon. She reportedly sustained a head injury, but was not transported to the hospital. It is unknown why she was on the roof in the first place.

A vehicle was reportedly spinning brodies in the middle of Airport Road and apparently almost hit a pedestrian. Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle. 

A purse found at a box store on U.S. 2 was returned to its Lakeside owner by a deputy Wednesday evening. 

Deputies received 109 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested an 18-year-old man after he was allegedly involved in a hit-and-run near a gas station on Ninth Street West Thursday afternoon.

Officers received 32 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police are investigating the theft of an iPod that occurred at the high school.

In other high school news, a 17-year-old woman was arrested at the school on a Columbia Falls warrant.

Officers received 15 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

A log house was reported as engulfed in flames around 3 a.m. Thursday. No word on if it is still burning. The home’s residents are reportedly OK. Rollins Volunteer Fire Department and the Somers Volunteer Fire Department responded.
