Bigfork High School’s drama team took first place in its home tournament Saturday.

Bigfork finished first in Class B and C drama, edging out teams from Simms, which finished in second place, and third-place Cut Bank. Bigfork took second place in Class B and C speech and debate, coming up short to Loyola Sacred Heart High School of Missoula. Cut Bank rounded out the Class B and C speech and debate top three.

Twenty-two Class A, B and C schools competed in the tournament. It was the first time Bigfork, which is competing for the first time this season as a Class B team, had seen its competition from the east side of the state.

In Class A action, Columbia Falls’ speech and debate squad continued their winning season by defeating Whitefish. Hamilton finished in third place, one point behind Whitefish, in Class A speech.

Libby took first-place honors in Class A drama, followed by second-place Polson and Hamilton in third.
