Glacier tops Flathead at speech meet

Speech and debate teams from Glacier and Flathead high schools won the top two spots at Friday and Saturday’s Magic City Olympiad in Billings.

Glacier finished in first place with 157 points, followed by Flathead’s 114.5 points. Bozeman took third place with 112 points.

Glacier was helped by three first-place finishes, in Public Forum, Impromptu Speaking and Expository Speaking, in which the Wolfpack claimed the top three spots. Flathead likewise had three individual victories, in Novice Policy Debate, Novice Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Memorized Public Address.

The Class AA teams have this weekend off, then compete in Bozeman Jan. 29 and 30 at the Class AA state championship.
