Flathead County sheriff

An unknown object, described as a large green and white ball on fire with a tail, fell from the sky in the Somers area around 7 p.m. Monday, according to a report made to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies were unable to locate the object and received no additional reports about unidentified flying objects that evening.

A woman reportedly threw a beer bottle through the passenger side window of a man’s vehicle around 10 a.m. Tuesday. She allegedly broke both the window and the temporary restraining order he has against her.

A woman who reportedly had been drinking was apparently kicking and spitting on people at a residence on Conrad Drive around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Parties were separated and the woman walked home.

A vehicle reportedly seen driving the wrong way in the northbound lane of U.S. 93 Monday night was not located by authorities.

Deputies are investigating a potential case of domestic abuse after a man allegedly slammed a woman’s head. The incident occurred at a residence on Frontage Road in Columbia Falls around 7 p.m. Monday.

Around 1:49 a.m. Tuesday, after apparently hitting a man in the face several times while in the parking lot of a bar on U.S. 2 West in Columbia Falls, a woman was cited for assault.

Responding to a report of a burglary at a loan company on East Idaho around 10 a.m. Tuesday, authorities noticed the cash door left open and some files appeared to have been rifled through. 

A man allegedly hit a 12-year-old with a belt early Tuesday afternoon. Authorities are investigating.

A motorcycle was reported stolen from Moonlight Trail around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday.

Deputies received 116 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

Some kids who shoveled snow onto a stairway, and then snowboarded down it, were counseled by Kalispell Police and soon left. The incident occurred near a dentistry office on Four Mile Drive around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

A man called police saying he could hear a woman screaming and a man yelling at her in an alley between Eighth Avenue West and Ninth Avenue West around 8 p.m. Monday. The woman later told police the man broke the door to her vehicle. Officers are investigating.

Officers were unable to locate two stray dogs reportedly wandering around the playground of Peterson School around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The person who reported the dogs was apparently concerned because of the large number of kids soon to be let out.

A shoplifter is still at large after allegedly stealing a box with unknown contents from a building supply center on Third Avenue East Tuesday afternoon.

Officers received 69 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish Police were unable to locate the bright green laser light reportedly shining on the intersection at West Seventh Street and Karrow around 8 p.m. Monday.

Officers received 22 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

A cyclist returned from a store to find his expensive bike had been stolen from where it was parked on Second Avenue West. Columbia Falls Police are investigating.

Officers received 17 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
