Lora Arvilla Turner, 95, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at the Heritage Place in Kalispell. She was born on Jan. 6, 1915, in North Carolina, the daughter of Charlie and Josie Faw. She and her family moved to Hardin when she was a child of 2. In 1934, she married R.G. Turner. They lived in Hardin until 1946, when they moved their family to Bigfork, and then in 1956 they moved to Kalispell. They spent many enjoyable hours together camping under the big skies of Montana. Arvilla loved working in her garden growing flowers. She was a very accomplished flower arranger and provided the Kalispell Senior Center with flowers for their tables for many years, therefore gaining her nickname The Flower Lady. Arvilla loved Montana, and once here, she lived 93 years and did not want to live anywhere else. Arvilla was preceded in death by her husband, R.G. Turner; a son, Lloyd M. Turner; her parents, Charlie and Josie Faw; a sister, Mary McLaughlin; and a brother, Lloyd Faw. She is survived by her daughter, Frances Nicholas, and daughter-in-law, Norma Turner, both of Kalispell; grandchildren, Melissa Yarde and Darin Turner, both of Kalispell, Michelle Santos of Guayanbo, Puerto Rico, Julie Reichmann of Galt, Calif.; and 10 great-grandchildren. There are no services planned for Arvilla. Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Arvilla s family.
