Woman chases man with hatchet

A woman apparently went after her ex-boyfriend with a hatchet Monday night after the man showed up at a Meadow Court residence. According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, the woman apparently wanted the man out and reportedly became upset when he returned to get some belongings. The man’s face was covered in blood when deputies arrived, apparently the result of the woman punching him. No arrests were made, but the woman faces pending charges of assault with a weapon.

Two four-wheeling kids spinning broadies in the parking lot of a church on East Evergreen Drive were counseled by deputies and sent home Monday evening.

A concerned neighbor called deputies Monday afternoon to report that three stallions corralled at Grande Vista Drive appeared to have halters that were too tight. An animal warden responded and reported that the horses were OK.

A 16-year-old girl was reportedly causing a disturbance at a Mallard Loop residence Monday afternoon. Her mother called deputies wanting advice. She was counseled.

While picking up her son along Cougar Trail Monday afternoon, a woman reported that a neighbor’s vehicle almost hit hers. A bus driver apparently witnessed the incident. Parties were spoken to by deputies.

A 16-year-old girl was taken to juvenile detention after apparently hitting her mother Tuesday morning at a Mallard Loop residence.

A man was arrested for partner or family member assault after he apparently hit a woman while at a residence on U.S. 2 East Tuesday around 11 a.m.

A pet owner came across an open well while walking a dog along Columbia Falls Stage Road Tuesday morning. Deputies tacked down the property owner, who plans to fix it.

A man who stole a ladder from a truck, then pawned it, was cited for misdemeanor theft Tuesday around noon.

An 11-year-old ran away on foot Tuesday around noon, reportedly because he was upset about schoolwork. His mother found him not long after.

Deputies received 133 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

A man, 21 and a woman, 18, were arrested by Kalispell Police for partner or family member assault after they hit each other while fighting over an Xbox video game console.

A rare, white, 7-year-old schnauzer named “Snoop Dog” was reported stolen from the Hungry Horse area Tuesday morning.

Unknowns have reportedly been siphoning gas from employee vehicles in the parking lot of a business on Third Avenue East.

Two teens reportedly smoking in an alley near Sixth Street West around noon Tuesday were gone when police arrived.

Officers received 54 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish Police received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department rescued a dog from the Flathead River Tuesday afternoon.

A chimney fire in a residence on Lake Hills Court had burned itself out by the time the Bigfork Fire Department arrived at the scene Monday night.
