Kalispell's Pistorese all-state, all-conference in AA baseball
Kalispell Lakers pitcher Joe Pistorese has been named to the Class AA All-State and Western AA All-Conference Montana/Alberta American Legion baseball teams.
The announcement came at a recent winter meeting in Great Falls.
Pistorese was the lone Laker named to the All-State team. The lefty started 15 games for the Lakers and led the mound staff with a 9-2 record.
In 102.67 innings, he allowed 66 hits (13 doubles, four triples and four homers), walked 51 and struck out 156. His ERA was 1.23.
At the plate, his batting average was .321. He had 10 doubles and 29 RBIs in 165 at bats.
Joining Pistorese on the All-Conference team from the Lakers was outfielder Pat Hergesheimer.
Hergesheimer had a .320 batting average and a slugging percentage of .575. He shared the team lead in home runs with five and had a team-best 16 doubles. In 203 plate appearances, he totaled 49 hits.
In Class A, the Kalispell Lakers had three players garner Western All-Conference honors — shortstop Brady Mott, utility player Keifer Wills and pitcher Alex Stanley.
The Kootenai Valley Rangers had four Western A All-Conference selections — shortstop Chad Price, utility player Jacob Grove and pitchers
Ryan Holder and Josh Soderling.
Adam Hust of the state champion Billings Scarlets and Mitch Messer from the Bozeman Bucks earned Coach of the Year honors in AA. Matt Kimmert from the state champion Laurel Dodgers and Chad Layton from the Lethbridge Spitz Miners won the same honosr in Class A.
The Billings Royals claimed the Andy Anderson Sportsmanship award in Class AA, and the Laurel Dodgers won the award for Class A.
