Suspects stealing smoked cigs

Flathead County sheriff

Unknown suspects have been stealing cigarettes from an ashtray at a Braig Road residence, according to a call made to Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies.

Three mules and two horses reportedly wandered onto a Equestrian Lane property Thursday afternoon. They were corralled and the owner was contacted about picking them up.

A man approached a Holt Stage residence and asked a woman there if she needed a handyman. She said no. So, he got in his vehicle and left around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

A man discovered a window on his trailer was broken by an unknown suspect around 7 p.m. Thursday.

The owner of a Jack Russel Terrier with a possible nosebleed was contacted and reportedly plans to care for the dog seen near a Terry Road residence around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Thursday night, a woman reported that two UPS packages had been stolen from her Swan Ridge Road home.

A Berne Road resident said a vehicle turns around in her driveway at the same time every day and she believes the vehicle might be following the school bus.

A juvenile boy was reportedly threatening to beat up another juvenile boy at Evergreen Junior High Friday morning.

Sometime in the last week, unknown persons have reportedly taken tires from a tire store on U.S. 2 East.

Deputies received 119 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

A woman called Kalispell Police Thursday afternoon to report her son was bitten by a large black dog that lives on Hilltop Avenue. At the time of the incident, the black dog and a brown dog were apparently out of the yard. The Flathead County Animal Warden responded. The victim was taken to Family Health Care.

A Garmin GPS system was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Ninth Street East.

A truck with no headlights on was reportedly traveling northbound on U.S. 93 South into town around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Officers removed a shopping cart from the train tracks near Third Avenue East North around 2:25 a.m. Friday. The cart had no logos and officers were unsure where to return it.

A black lab reportedly tried to attack a person several times Friday morning near a Sixth Avenue West residence. The dog’s owner was counseled. 

Officers received 58 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish Police received 22 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

At 2:20 p.m., Columbia Falls Police arrested a 23-year-old man on a warrant.

Officers received 21 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

A 34-year-old man, who reported having a strange feeling in his neck after a fall, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center around 9:30 p.m. Thursday.

A motorist reported seeing a flaming outhouse near Pleasant Valley and Lodgepole Drive around 10:49 p.m. Thursday. Marion Fire Department responded, but reportedly did not see any visible damage to the outhouse or a visible fire.

Kalispell Fire Department responded to a code red fire alarm at the emergency room of Kalispell Regional Medical Center. It turned out that the smoke reported in the area had been caused by the gears sticking on the elevator. The fire department did not report seeing any smoke upon arrival. Crews spoke to a hospital staff member who said everyone was OK.
