WHITEFISH - A pair of local leaderboard regulars are in the chase for the men's title at the 74th annual Earl Hunter Memorial 4th of July Tournament at Whitefish Lake Golf Club on Thursday.

Shawn Tucker of Whitefish sits tied for first with four others after shooting a 1-under 71 on the North Course. Kalispell native Larry Iverson is one shot back after carding a 72.

Darah Newell of Helena took the lead on the ladies' side with a 1-over 73 on the South Course.

Kalispell's Tess Stevenson is four shots back and Polson's Julia DiGiallonardo is five back.

Both Iverson and Tucker were runners-up in 2007. Iverson finished fifth last year and Tucker tied for 17th.
