Fourth weekend launches quietly

Due to the switch to the new 911 central dispatch system, law enforcement logs for the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Kalispell, Columbia Falls and Whitefish police were not available to the media on Saturday. However in a phone call, central dispatch reported a quiet day with no accidents and only one driving under the influence arrest in Columbia Falls as of early evening. Dispatchers reported that full logs would be available again by the end of the week.

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disorderly conduct call at an Arlee grocery store Friday.

Citizens made several boating incident reports. Two were in areas of the Flathead River and one was on Flathead Lake near Polson.

Deputies investigated a report of driving under the influence early Friday at mile marker 48 on U.S. Highway 93.

A report of a family assault was investigated at a Montana 35 restaurant in Polson.

A traffic accident with possible injuries was reported at Seventh Avenue East and Main Street in Polson a little after 11 a.m. Friday.

Deputies investigated a theft reported from a Swan Lake boat ramp around 1 p.m. Friday.

A citizen reported an animal bite at the Polson City Dock.

A motorist complained of vehicle damage discovered in a parking lot of a Ronan grocery store around 2:30 p.m.,and another driver called a little after 4 p.m. reporting vehicle damage at a different grocery store in Ronan.

A caller to dispatch made an allegation of fraud regarding someone in Columbus, Mont.

Several reports of suspicious activity kept law enforcement busy Friday with incidents at 20th Street in Polson, the Lake County Road Department and Montana Highway 212.

Deputies investigated a report of an assault on Lewis Lane Friday evening.

The Montana Highway Patrol made an arrest for criminal contempt at a trailer court in Ronan a little after 11:30 p.m. Friday.
