Missed text message, but not missing

A man called Flathead County Sheriff’s Office when his daughter, 27, who is on a 21-day hike with her dog in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, failed to check in Monday. She has been texting him her GPS coordinates and updating her website daily; when she failed to do so one day, her dad got worried. Flathead County Search and Rescue was called, but by using the last coordinates the woman had sent her father, authorities determined she was actually a few miles inside the Lewis & Clark county line. Her whereabouts remained a mystery until she updated her website Monday night.

Trespassing was reported in what was supposed to be an empty building on Montana 82 in Bigfork — then the caller realized he had the wrong house.

A man said he was assaulted by five other men behind an office supply store in Evergreen. He didn’t want to pursue charges; everyone involved had been drinking, and he only wanted the incident logged for information.

The loud noises from a Bigfork bar got a little quieter after deputies intervened.

A suspicious vehicle on Antelope Trail in Whitefish was gone when deputies investigated.

The men sleeping in a vehicle on Vista Lane in Bigfork weren’t suspicious, as a caller reported. They were just tired.

A woman called Kalispell police when someone banged on the front door Monday morning. Then the unknown intruder started rocking her U.S. 93 South trailer. Fortunately for the woman, it turned out to be her husband, who had locked himself out.

A caller said he had pulled over a drunk driver and pinned him down until officers could get there. The man accused of driving under the influence was arrested.

Two threatening messages were awaiting a man on his answering machine when he got home. He requested a call from an officer.
