Runaway charged with truck theft

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office arrested a juvenile after responding to a report of a runaway from Montana Academy on Lost Prairie Road at 6 p.m. Thursday.

At 11 p.m., someone on Island Lake Road reported that a pickup truck had been stolen. Montana Highway Patrol stopped the truck in Kalispell and charged the juvenile with theft.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance on Cobbler Way at 1:36 a.m. Friday after people heard yelling coming from a residence. Deputies found an intoxicated male and evidence of domestic violence from two days before. The man was arrested and charged with partner assault.

At 11:41 a.m. Thursday, sheriff’s deputies responded to Foothill Road where a man and woman reported receiving threats and harassment in an ongoing dispute.

At 2:41 p.m. Thursday, deputies responded to a welfare check after a diabetic roommate wasn’t answering the door or the phone. Medical personnel arrived on scene and kicked in a door. As this was done, the person came down the stairs. All was OK.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of criminal mischief at 10:33 p.m. Thursday on Foy’s Lake Road after someone reported a vehicle’s passenger rear window was broken. The person had parked the car and gone swimming. When the person returned, the broken window was discovered with nothing apparently missing from the vehicle. 

An identification theft was reported at 10 a.m. Thursday. Money was apparently taken out of the person’s bank account and another account set up online.

Kalispell Police responded to a two-vehicle non-injury accident between a Lincoln Town Car and Pontiac Grand Am at 6:22 p.m. Thursday at Second Street West and Seventh Avenue West.

A call came in at 1:17 a.m. Friday from someone concerned about vehicles setting up for Arts in the Park at Depot Park.

A DUI call was reported at 1:21 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of East Idaho Street when the driver of a white Chevy pickup couldn’t hand an employee money at a drive-through window. The suspect’s eyes were “rolling around like the driver didn’t know what was going on.”

A call came in at 1:54 a.m. Friday about a fight on Woodland Park Drive. A woman was reportedly hit in the face.

A DUI call was reported at 6:17 a.m. Friday on Montford Road and Montana 35. A woman was escorted to a chemical dependence center on Meridian.

Police received a call about theft of a bicycle Friday. A black mountain bike with a flat tire was reportedly stolen from behind some signs and monuments on Third Street West.

A vehicle hit and run with minor damage was reported Friday in a motel parking lot on First Avenue East.

Reckless driving was reported at Friday on Hutton Ranch Road. A turquoise Chevy Cavalier was reportedly being driven erratically with bad lane changes.

Two calls came in Friday from East Washington Street. A man was reportedly shoving a woman around, and she was hitting back. The woman then left to go to work in Whitefish.

A parking violation was reported Friday on First Avenue East. A boat and trailer had been in front of a woman’s house for five days. Police put a 72-hour sticker on them.

A black Labrador retriever was reported loose in the 600 block of Tenth Avenue West.

A motor vehicle accident was reported Friday after a vehicle struck a pedestrian at First Avenue West and Eighth Street West. The pedestrian ended up with a bleeding elbow and a bump on the head.

Police received a call about two little girls sitting in a blue Volkswagen Jetta. The girls reportedly kept opening the doors with no adults around.

Lake County Sheriff’s deputies arrested someone on a criminal contempt warrant early Wednesday after a traffic stop on Lakeview Drive.

Deputies made an arrest Tuesday on a criminal contempt warrant after a traffic stop at U.S. 93 and Round Butte. The traffic stop was made after a vehicle accident with property damage.

Deputies arrested someone at a grocery store on a criminal contempt warrant Tuesday. 

Ronan Police Department officers made two arrests Tuesday for warrants at a Mission gas station.

Polson Police arrested someone early Wednesday morning on a criminal contempt warrant after a traffic stop at a Whitefish business.
