Men smash door, window to enter home

Kalispell Police responded to a disturbance on Ninth Avenue West Tuesday night involving two men smashing a door and windows to gain entry to a home where two people were hiding.

The incident apparently resulted in someone getting a bloody nose and the arrest of a man, 31, for assault with a weapon and another man, 24, for burglary, criminal mischief and partner/family member assault.

There was a report of a mountain bike being stolen from a residence in the 200 block of Two Mile Drive.

A woman reported that a strange man made a lewd request in the Second Street West and Fifth Avenue West area. Officers located him and he denied saying any such thing.

There was a disturbance involving a man screaming at a woman at a residence in the 400 block of Liberty Street. They were counseled and separated.

A clerk at a Main Street store reported that a young woman left without paying for merchandise.

A teenager sitting outside a grocery store on Third Avenue East North reported witnessing a vehicle pull up, a teenager jumping out and taking items from in front of the store. The matter is being investigated.

Officers assisted the Montana Highway Patrol in the arrest of a person for drunk driving. The officers requested a Spanish speaker to communicate with the suspect.

Wednesday morning, a young pedestrian was stopped on West Montana Street and arrested for possessing marijuana and tobacco. He later was released to the custody of a parent.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office got a report Tuesday from a woman who claimed that her ex-husband trespassed and stole a weed trimmer from her Three Mile Drive residence.

Checks and credit cards were reported stolen from a vehicle on Arbor Drive.

There was a report of two men shooting from a vehicle into a private meadow in the Whitefish area, but they were gone when a deputy arrived.

A bracelet worth $4,500 was reported stolen from a vehicle at a location off of U.S. 2 East.

There were several scattered reports of suspicious men attempting to sell spare asphalt or offering to pave driveways in the Patrick Creek and Lower Valley Road areas.

A juvenile was reportedly bitten by a dog on Cedar Drive in Evergreen.

There was a report of a man riding a bike and knocking a woman off another bike on Mountainview Drive in Evergreen.

Deputies responding to a Hodgson Road residence ended up escorting an unwanted woman off the property. A couple hours later, there was a report from the same address about a man attempting to bash in the front door with a shovel. The 47-year-old was arrested for criminal mischief. A couple hours after that, there was a report of the arrested man’s father causing problems at the same address.

Wednesday morning, a LaBrant Road resident reported that a neighbor’s dogs had killed two sheep.

There was a report of a snowboard being stolen from a Country Way residence.

Columbia Falls Police responded to a disturbance involving a teenage boy and girl near the North Fork Road viaduct. The girl was disturbed enough that she was detained and taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center for a mental health evaluation.
