Hill makes Calgary's Showdown Sunday

Beau Hill, 31, of West Glacier has advanced to Showdown Sunday in bull riding at the Calgary Stampede.

Hill, a member of the Professional Bull Riders circuit, will compete in the $100,000 round on the final day of the rodeo along with nine other finalists.

Hill had the top ride during the first performance on July 9 with an 86-point go on Ricky Remedy. That earned the cowboy $5,500.

He was one of two bull riders to post a score that day.

Hill was bucked off during the second performance on a bull called Mr. Cascade, and in the third performance by Blue Moon.

On Monday, Hill was one of seven bull riders to post a score. He tied for fourth with 85 points on Jackson James.

Hill competed in Pool A with nine other bull riders. He finished third in the pool with earnings of $7,500.

Ten bull riders also competed in Pool B. The top four finishers from both pools advanced to the finale.

The other 12 bull riders will compete today for two wild card spots for Showdown Sunday.

Hill is currently in 27th place in the PBR standings. In 15 events, he’s ridden 18 times in 41 attempts
