Bryce Evan Johnson, 34

Bryce Evan Johnson, 34, of Eagle, Idaho, died Sunday, July 18, 2010, at home of cancer. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 24, at the Izaak Walton Inn, Essex. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. Cremation was under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise, Idaho. Bryce was born Feb. 22, 1976, in Kalispell, the son of Kenneth and Velma Evans Johnson. He grew up in Montana, graduating from high school in Columbia Falls. Bryce went on to become a journeyman carpenter in Las Vegas. While in Las Vegas, he married Stephanie Nyman on May 23, 1998. In 2006, Bryce joined the United States Navy to serve his country honorably. He was attending the Naval Submarine School at the time of his medical retirement in 2008, after being diagnosed with cancer. Bryce had many hobbies including woodworking, glass fusing, drawing, traveling, hiking and camping. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Nyman, of Eagle; his father, Kenneth Johnson, of Essex; his brother, Ian Skip Johnson of Billings; his aunt, Beverly Johnson, and two cousins, Teri King and Thomas Yates, all of Spokane. Bryce was preceded in death by his mother, Velma Evans. His family suggests memorials be made to the Idaho Humane Society, 4775 Dorman, Boise, ID 83705
