Amy Grace Kalani Searles, 26

Amy Grace Kalani Searles died on July 19, 2010, near East Glacier as the result of an auto accident. She was born at home on Dec. 4, 1983, in Eureka to John Searles and Nancy Allan. Amy Grace lived in Eureka during her younger years, then moved to Whitefish where she graduated from Whitefish High School in 2002. She was very creative and enjoyed jewelry making, pottery and painting. She also loved dancing, hiking, biking, skiing and her job at Glacier Park for the past two summers. Amy Grace is survived by her loving mother, Nancy Allan, and her father, John Searles, of Prescott, Ariz.; stepfather, Kyle Ortman, of Whitefish, sister, Vajra Allan, and brother-in-law, Carl Beery, of Seattle; brothers, Kasey Ortman and Nikolas Ortman of Whitefish, brothers, Jasper, Joshua and Forrest Searles of Phoenix; sister, Aneecia, and brother, Doowee Searles, of Prescott; grandmother, Ruth Allan, of Vancouver, British Columbia; grandparents, John and Linda Ortman, of West Yellowstone; and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Jim Allan; and grandparents, Gene and Nancy Searles. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 26, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish. A potluck will follow at 3 p.m. at the Saddle Club in Whitefish.
