Teens calling home arouse suspicion

Kalispell Police officers responded to a report of two teenage boys “messing with” an air conditioning unit at a business on Third Avenue East North.

When officers arrived shortly before 7 p.m. Friday, they found the teens had plugged their cell phones into an electric outlet so they could call their mothers. Police told the teens to not use the outlet at the private business.

Officers talked to a grandmother and her 11-year-old granddaughter who was reportedly assaulted by another pre-teen female on Second Street West around 7 p.m. Friday. Because the alleged assailant’s full name was unknown, police were not able to talk to the girl.

Police were not able to find a man who had reportedly stumbled out of a club on Sixth Street East at 4:31 p.m. Friday. The reporting party had said the man appeared to be unable to walk.

A woman reported to police a break-in to her sport utility vehicle and travel trailer parked on North Main Street. However, officers learned the vehicle and trailer were not locked. Nothing was damaged or taken from the auto or trailer. The report was filed at 9:51 p.m. Friday.

Another vehicle break-in was reported at 1:18 p.m. Saturday at the Buffalo Hill Golf Course.

Police officers asked a group of people who were “singing and having a good time” to “keep it down” after the landlord complained the group was too noisy. The incident occurred on Glenwood Drive at 10:26 p.m. Friday.

A man reported that he saw a woman driving a van run into a car parked in a lot on North Main Street around 2 p.m. Friday. The woman then reportedly drove off. Officers were not able to find the driver of the van.

Police were called to a business on Hutton Ranch Road for a report that $200 had been stolen Saturday afternoon.

A handgun was reported stolen Saturday afternoon from a vehicle parked on North Main Street.

A man and a woman were counseled by police after the woman reported Friday night that she had been the victim of repeated physical and verbal abuse.

Kalispell police received a report that a bicycle was stolen from a residence on Sixth Avenue West sometime Thursday night.

Several dogs were reported running loose Friday, including a small pup running in and out of traffic near Fourth Street West and Sixth Avenue West. A stray chocolate Lab was picked up on Liberty Street around 6:25 p.m. Friday. The dog was taken to the shelter. A small black dog was found on Vista Loop at 7:55 p.m. Friday and returned to its owner who lives on Sunset Court.

A caller reported to police around 8 p.m. Friday that a vehicle driving toward Woodland Park Drive from Conrad Drive had almost hit five other autos. The driver wasn’t found.
