Pet skunks reportedly on the loose in neighborhood

An exterminator and officials with the Montana Fish and Game Department were contacted Monday morning in response to a report of skunks wandering from one house to another on Westwood Lane. A resident called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office at 8:37 a.m. to report that the skunks a neighbor had been keeping were now coming into his yard.

A man was arrested at 4:15 p.m. Monday on outstanding arrest warrants. He was arrested after a Bernard Road resident reported the man was “trashing” a house.

Another man was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol. The arrest was made at 3:01 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. 93.

A Shady Lane resident reported suspicious activity in the neighborhood at 11:47 p.m. Monday. Two people were reportedly wandering from house to house and trying to open some doors. Officers learned the two were looking for the woman’s daughter.

Jewelry and cash were reported stolen from a home on Sulky Lane at 2:41 p.m. Monday.

Deputies responded to a 3:30 p.m. Monday disturbance in Martin City. A woman had reportedly been drinking alcohol and then was throwing stuff around. She was gone when officers arrived.

Officers were not able to locate a woman who was reportedly driving around drunk yelling at kids on Nicholson Drive at 6:51 p.m. Monday.

Flathead County Sheriff’s deputies received two reports of stolen lawnmowers — one from a Creston Road residence at 7:51 a.m. Monday and the other from a Columbia Falls home just past 1 p.m. Monday.

Kalispell Police officers cut handcuffs off two teenagers who “were goofing around and accidentally handcuffed themselves together.” The incident was reported at 6:28 p.m. Monday on First Avenue East North.

Police received a call Monday morning advising them that a possible drug deal was to take place at Emery Bay Campground at 5 p.m. Monday. No indication anything amiss actually took place however.

A report of prescription fraud was filed Monday afternoon by personnel at a pharmacy on First Avenue East North.

Police responded to a report of a pedestrian-vehicle collision at the intersection of Market Place and North Main Street at 5:20 p.m. Monday. The driver of the pickup stopped and she and the pedestrian talked and then both left, according to the person who called in the accident.

A woman who lives on Third Street West reported to police that her neighbor was worried that her husband was going to hurt her. Police took the neighbor to an emergency room to have visible injuries and bruises checked out.

A renter on Second Avenue East North called police at 11:34 p.m. Monday and said her landlord was outside her home “doing all sorts of weird stuff.” She acknowledged that she was three days late paying her rent, but her landlord’s actions were scaring her. Officers counseled both parties.

A woman reported that someone threw something at the back door of her home on First Avenue West, shattering the glass. The incident was reported at 4:48 p.m. Monday.
