Alicia E. Vick, 89

Alicia E. Vick, 89, of Missoula, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010, at her home in Missoula. She was born Jan. 15, 1921, in Portland, a daughter of Alicia Conrad and Walter McCutcheon. She graduated from Flathead County High School in 1938. Alicia worked in the radio business during and after World War II, where she had her own show and filled in as newscaster. She also worked in radio in Seattle for a time as copywriter at KEVR. She married Richard V. Vick in January of 1949. After they moved to Missoula in the early 60s, Alicia worked at Holy Spirit Parish for 23 years, the last 15 as parish secretary and office manager. She was a partner in the family business, The Vick Gallery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in March of 2008; her parents; stepfather, George Campbell; daughter-in-law, Laura Gerhard; and sister-in-law, Hilda Campbell. She is now survived by three children, Sharon and Larry Durado of Kalispell, Richard S. Vick and Liane of Boise, Idaho, and Christopher and Susan Vick of Seattle; brother, Charles, and Joni Campbell, of Santa Cruz; three grandchildren, Dan Durado, Natalie Robinson and Jonathan Vick; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Andrew and Alex; and two nieces. At her request, there will be no formal or public services. Cremation has taken place. Memorials are requested, if so desired, to the Conrad Mansion in Kalispell or to the Humane Society. Arrangements are under the care of Garden City Funeral Home.
