WHITEFISH — The Libby Loggers and Glacier Twins split a Class A American Legion baseball conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Memorial Field.

Glacier capitalized on six Libby errors to pull out a 7-6 victory in the opener. The Loggers pounded 13 hits in the nightcap en route to a 15-4 triumph.

Glacier and Libby are both 3-1 in league play. Libby is 13-13 overall.

“It was a little case of Jekyll and Hyde today,” Libby coach Kelly Morford said.

“We didn’t play well in the first game, but I’m proud of them bouncing back and playing well in the second game. They just need to be a little more consistent.”

Justin Wicka homered for Libby with one runner aboard to center field in the first game. It was his second round-tripper of the season.

Glacier’s Connor Donahue also homered in the first game, a solo shot in the second inning to right field.

Libby is back in action with a Friday doubleheader at the Bitterroot Bucks. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
