Dogs corner confused man

Dogs cornered a man on a log early Friday morning in the backyard of a home on Wisconsin Avenue in Whitefish. He was lost and couldn’t remember his last name. He may have had a medical incident.

A resident of Gunsite Loop called sheriff deputies complaining of an ongoing problem with a neighbor with 18 dogs. A neighborhood meeting is planned to discuss the problem.

Some stinkers put a dead skunk in a mailbox on White Birch Lane Thursday afternoon. A man at the residence  recently had a run in with the local youngsters.

A caller reported that she left her house on Brunner Road for 45 minutes and returned to find someone had broken in and stolen a purse and other items on Thursday.

Another thief struck in Whitefish, stealing sunglasses, a cell phone and radar detector from a vehicle on Bearberry Lane. A rash of such thefts have occurred in Whitefish.

A four-year-old boy was injured in an accident on U.S. Highway 2 West Thursday and was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. He was not belted into the car. No details of the accident were available.

Deputies received a report that a home health care worker found pain  medication missing from a man’s home on East First Street in Whitefish.

A fire reported near Ashley Lake Road was a legal slash burn.

A caller thought it necessary to report to deputies that a black bear with three cubs was spotted east of River Road by the Tea Kettle Bridge. It was not in the garbage or bothering any humans.

A Martin City man complained that a neighbor called him 8 or 9 times and called him offensive names. A deputy counseled the two parties and they agreed not to speak to each other.

Neighbors reported that owners left town but left their dog enclosed on the porch of a mobile home on Easy Drive without food or water. Food and water were taken to the dog and a notice left for the owners.

A resident headed off a convoy of 10 to 15 juveniles planning to party on Whitefish Lake. He could not say where they went after his intervention.

An unruly patron was ejected from a business on Baker Avenue and walked across the street to complain to Whitefish police.

A  family dispute broke out near midnight Thursday between a  mother and son with alcohol involved. The son reportedly grabbed his mother by the throat and threw her down the stairs. She was transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The incident is under investigation.

Shots were reported on Arbour Drive.

A man was warned against urinating in public outside a bar in Whitefish.

Loud music and a bonfire on Deer Trail in Happy Valley were missing when deputies arrived at 1:57 a.m. Friday.

A fighting couple on South Mountain View Drive were separated for the evening.

Someone threw a “Draino bomb” on a lawn on Trail Ridge Road, causing damage.

A thief broke into a construction site on Eagle View Ranch Road in Whitefish and took construction materials.

Deputies investigated a partner assault on Conrad Drive.

A woman contacted the sheriff’s department about a man she met on the Internet who moved here from California and is now encouraging her to harm herself. Attempts to contact him were unsuccessful.

Four fishing rods were stolen from Shady Lane.

A father on Jellison Road complained that a bike was taken from his son.

A man on Browns Road claimed that he had an explosive device placed in his mail box. Deputies removed and disposed of the object.

Kalispell police officers counseled a neighbor who left an inappropriate note on his neighbor’s door on Sixth Avenue West  Friday regarding a barking dog.

Someone with a bullhorn was accosting customers at a grocery store on Third Avenue East North. He refused to leave but moved to the sidewalk with his bullhorn not too loud.

A man found the mirrors missing from his vehicle Friday morning on Tenth Avenue West. They were valued at $100.

A resident of Two Mile Drive discovered tires slashed on his jeep Friday morning. He has a suspect in mind.

A caller reported that someone in Missoula had charged thousands of dollars using his name.

A person living on Main Street became concerned about two young men after they circled the block four times at 3 a.m. Friday. They told the officer they were just getting their exercise.

Just after midnight, a caller told police that at least two men were lying in the road at Fourth Street West and Fifth Avenue West. They were gone when an officer arrived.

A man on Third Avenue West called police to complain that his ex-room mate had punched him in the nose Thursday evening but he didn’t want an officer to come since he had marijuana plants in his home.

Columbia Falls police made an arrest for a Kalispell warrant.
