Marijuana plants seized from home of deceased

A Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy and coroner found a batch of marijuana plants after responding to a residence on the 8000 block of Montana 35 near Bigfork for a report of a 67-year-old man who had died of natural causes Friday afternoon. A roommate was a card-carrying marijuana “care provider,” allowing him to have 12 marijuana plants. But 49 plants were discovered and 37 were seized. The deceased had recently been released from a hospital and died from heart disease.

Two men ran out of a grocery store on U.S. 93 south of Kalispell with four cases of beer and got away.

A deputy counseled two men who were engaged in a road rage dispute in the Foys Lake area.

Deputies broke up a dispute between a man and a woman on Shady Lane.

A woman reported Friday night that she had been beaten and choked unconscious by a man at a residence on the 1000 block of Conrad Drive on Wednesday, saying she was held there against her will for two days until the man had to return to work. The man was located on Green Road in Coram Saturday morning and arrested for assault and on a felony assault warrant out of Texas.

Early Saturday, a man reported that his girlfriend was hitting him and throwing things at a residence on Columbia Falls Stage Road. There were no arrests.

A man and a woman were separated after a disturbance on the 200 block of Harmony Road.

A mailbox and signs were run over by a vehicle on the corner of Blacker Road and Boulder Ridge Trail.

A resident in the Blankenship Road area called to report that a neighbor was not securing garbage that has been attracting bears recently. The matter was referred to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

A Riley Lane resident in the Columbia Falls area reported he has missing bicycles.

A Rockhill Road resident reported that address signs had been stolen.

Sheriff’s dispatch had 188 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Kalispell Police received a report of a man bearing a blowhorn and a sign saying “Fear Jesus” outside of an Airport Road bar Friday night. He eventually left.

After a traffic stop on Woodland Drive early Saturday, officers arrested a 34-year-old man for drunk driving and driving with a suspended license.

A Buttercup Loop resident reported gas recently had been siphoned from a vehicle.

An ambulance was called to transport two men who were passed out at a North Main Street hotel’s parking lot.

Officers counseled two men who were involved in a fight in the area of First Avenue East and First Street.

A Northern Lights Boulevard resident reported a burglary in progress early Saturday. When officers arrived, it was determined that a back door had been forced open and items had been taken.

After a traffic stop at Third Street West and Second Avenue West, a woman, 24, was arrested for drunk driving.

A man, 21, was arrested on the 1800 block of Airport Road for drunk driving and possession of drugs.

There was a report of a laptop computer and other items being stolen in a burglary at a Hawthorn Avenue residence.

The owner of a West Center Street coffee stand reported a trespass incident involving a competitor who was outside advertising a new coffee business. The parties were counseled.

Two juvenile females were arrested for shoplifting at a store in Kalispell Center Mall.

A resident on the 100 block of Sunburst Court reported that someone had hit a tree with a vehicle and left tire tracks in the yard overnight.

There were 99 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish Police responded to a report of a disorderly person at a Central Avenue bar early Saturday, but the person was gone when they arrived.

Responding to a suspicious persons report early Saturday, Columbia Falls Police arrested a man, 19, for possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant on the 1600 block of Fourth Avenue West.

There were 23 log entries between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

ALARMS

The ALERT helicopter, Whitefish Ambulance and the Montana Highway Patrol were dispatched to a one-vehicle rollover accident on U.S. 93 just north of Point of Rocks Saturday morning. Two elderly women were injured and transported to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
