Kalispell man pleads not guilty to child-porn charges

In federal court Tuesday, a Kalispell man pleaded not guilty to receiving child pornography.

Tanner Osweiler, 21, was arraigned during a federal court session in Missoula before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah C. Lynch for allegedly receiving child pornography via the internet between September 2007 and June 2008.

He is currently released on special conditions.

If convicted of this charge, Osweiler faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and lifetime supervision.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Cyndee L. Peterson is the prosecutor for the United States. The investigation was conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
